Frat-Related Crime Claimed Life

I’m not well-versed in baranggay number so I’m not sure where Baranggay 830 exactly is, but it is where this crime happened. So there’s no incident map for this entry.

Apparently, a baranggay tanod was attacked and killed by a gang of youth when he was making his rounds. Motive of the crime was not reported in the news.

Village watchman mauled to death by fratmen – report

MANILA, Philippines – A village watchman became the latest victim of gang-related violence in Manila, after being reportedly mauled to death by a gang of youths in the
city’s Pandacan district.

Radio dzBB’s Louie Garcia reported early Monday that relatives of victim Edgardo Mallabo are crying for justice, claiming some of the fraternity members are “well-connected.”

Mallabo, a watchman of Barangay 830 in Pandacan, was making the rounds with some colleagues when members of the “Temple” fraternity attacked them.

Police arrested suspects Kenneth Uy, 18, and four minors, but released them immediately.

The report said Mallabo’s relatives claimed at least one of the suspects is a son of a lawyer who is also an official of the village. – GMANews.TV
