Pista ng Sunog sa Sto. Niño de Pandacan

Did you hear firetrucks running their sirens on last week – April 19, 2009? It’s the first Sunday after Easter, and if you haven’t heard it yet, ito po ay Pista ng Sunog sa ating bayan.

From the sample photos above taken from Paulos multiply site, a procession was held and a young girl even recited “Tula ng Sunog”.

    Good morning to you…
I was actually trying to find a few statistics i needed about Pandacan or kahit anything about District 6 of Manila when i was led to this website via links i visited. It caught my interest to read and know that the people of Pandacan are very much active and involved in the community activities :) Thanks to your updates and hopefully, you’ll remain tireless
I used to live in Sto Nino (near Beata) until i got married. My parents still live there so we visit Pandacan often, and everytime there are occasions to celebrate. I attended school in the nearby St Joseph’s School and I am a proud alumna of SJS!
It is interesting to know that we celebrate “Pista ng Sunog sa Pandacan” every year during month of April. When I was reading this, initially I thought you were referring to the big fire which happened in April 1988 (i’m not sure about the year but it was late 1980′s???) which destroyed almost the entire Sto Nino Street neighborhood and neighboring streets….In fact, our house was one of those which were razed down by the fire. Quite a coincidence, since they both happened in April.
Anyway, I hope the H.I.S. category here will, in the future, include statistics, other facts and figures about Pandacan…i.e. population, education related stats like how many schools are in pandacan including student population, how many students in Pandacan are enrolled, employment stats, etc… and other related data specific to Pandacan. The city of manila website did not have any of these, but mostly press releases  :wassat:
More power!!! Hope to hear from you.

Thanks for your reply, Miyong! Although it is very convenient to just provide the link to the NSO website, it can be best if Pandacan 1011 website can have the data filtered specific to Pandacan info only, para mas user friendly. Minsan kasi sa dami ng mga data or info available sa NSO, nakaka brain-drain :silly: , at minsan outdated, or maybe kasi may cycle at publication/release dates ang survey…Anyway, looking forward to this  :cheerful:

  • speaking of NSO… saang mall ba sya meron? kasi sa SM Marikina eh meron, pero sa ibang SM branches eh wala akong idea kung saan merong NSO… any idea guys?
