We started celebrating this event last year. The group spearheading this annual festivities – Samahang Sining at Kalinangan ng Pandacan – has provided a week-long cultural activities for everyone to participate in and enjoy!

Do you know that streets in Beata are names of Pandacan heroes? Samahang Sining at Kultura ng Pilipinas (SSKPil) and Sen. Manny Villar are inviting you to watch their project as they relive the heroics of our “kababayans” (known as Sies Martirez) during the 1896 revolution.

Last Friday, Father Jacinto Zamora’s 174th birthday was remembered at Plaza Zamora along T. San Luis Street. In commemoration of his martyrdom, a wreath-laying ceremony was held at Plaza Zamora led by Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim. The event was attended by Fr. Zamora’s descendants and Manila officials.

It supersedes (or should I say over-empowers?) the previous Ordinance 8027 which classified Pandacan and Sta. Ana as residential and commercial areas instead of industrial.
