Last Friday, Father Jacinto Zamora’s 174th birthday was remembered at Plaza Zamora along T. San Luis Street. In commemoration of his martyrdom, a wreath-laying ceremony was held at Plaza Zamora led by Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim. The event was attended by Fr. Zamora’s descendants and Manila officials.
These are vintage black and white photos of Socialite Club, a Pandacan group established in the 50′s. From the information I’ve gathered, the club doesn’t exist anymore.

Yesterday – May 28, 2009, Mayor Alfredo Lim approved the controversial Ordinance 7177, which allows the oil depot here in Pandacan to stay. It supersedes (or should I say over-empowers?) the previous Ordinance 8027 which classified Pandacan and Sta. Ana as residential and commercial areas instead of industrial.
