Mukhang bulilyaso si aling Estrelita Cunanan - 68 years old of Kahilum 1 because of drug-selling. She was actually arrested last month (October 14) but according the news, Manila City Prosecutor’s Office only filed criminal charges against her just yesterday.

68 years old. One would probably ask: “Ang tanda na bakit kaya nagawa pa ‘to?”

Bunga ba ng kahirapan, or dahil na rin sa kawalan ng ibang skills?

Last week was the 30th Catholic Mass Media Awards at GSIS Auditorium, and our very own Ms. Mari-an Santos is one of the finalists in Best Entertainment Column print category. It’s her second straight nomination, and we at Pandacan1011.com were praying for her to get the award.

However, for some reasons, CMMA 2008 didn’t pick a winner from the said category, and only gave a citation to one priest — according to Simon Makabayan, a 1011 member who attended the event. He also added that “there were at least 4 other categories without any winner.”

Despite that, we still would like to congratulate Ms. Mari-an Santos for putting a star in Pandacan once again.

Senator Barack Obama will be the next USA President after winning the November 4, 2008 Presidential Election. His Republican opponent Senator John McCain just finished congratulating him from his Arizona headquarters in front of his supporters.

The Democrat Barack Obama, the 44th president of the United States, and the first African-American president, is expected to show up any minute at his Chicago headquarters for his speech. Millions of emotional and overwhelmed supporters are waiting for him, as of this writing.

Congratulations to Barack Obama and his supporters! Are there any 1011 members living in the USA and voted for him?

As a Pandacan resident, do you think USA’s economy and standard of living will improve? Do you care at all?

Sa Obesis, Pandacan, tuwing Nobyembre 3, idinaraos ang anibersaryo ng pagtayo ng Chapel at pagdating ng Sto. Niño sa chapel.

Itinayo raw ang chapel nuong 1979-1980 at kasabay nitong iniambag ang Poong Sto. Niño ng mga Cursillo.

Sa prosisyon na ito, isinasayaw ang mga Poon habang inilalakad. Nagsimula ang prosisyon sa chapel, lumabas ng Obesis at papuntang Pres. Quirino Ave.; pumasok sa Lopez Compound at lumabas ulit ng Hi-way at sa Gonzales Street pumasok at lumabas sa Sampaguita Street; pagdating ulit sa Hi-way ay bumalik na ito sa Obesis para ilapag sa chapel ang Poon.
